2009 NFL Draft one year later: Dallas Cowboys While many simply dismiss Jerry Jones as a goofball, his record in the draft is actually pretty good. Of course t hat is if we do not count the 2009 draft class that failed to return immediate dividends. They traded out of the first two rounds and went the quantity route over the quality route. |

Draft Day decison makers: Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones is not only the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, but he also serves as their General Manger. Some think Jones to be a goofball, and at time he is, but he has a pretty good record on draft day. He relies heavily on Tom Ciskowski, who runs the pro and college personnel departments. Ciskowski has put his stamp on the last few Cowboys drafts. Executive Vice President Stephen Jones also has a lot of say, and has been very involved in recent years. |

What should the Dallas Cowboys do with their first round draft pick? With the 27th pick in the first round, it probably makes the most sense for the Dallas Cowboys to trade back into the second round and select the highest rated OT with a second round grade. Since OT is probably their highest position of need, and several other teams due to take Tackles ahead of them, it makes a lot of sense for them to trade down. |

What are the Dallas Cowboys needs heading into 2010? It is somewhat hard to ranks the Dallas Cowboys needs. They have several areas that are concerning, but some of that is not immediate. They could use a new starter at LT given the release of Flozell Adams, and that seems to be the area of most concern. |

2009 NFL season in review: Dallas Cowboys I, guess we cannot bag on teams that went 11-5, and made it to the second round of the NFL playoffs, even if they are owned by one Jerry Jones. The Cowboys are a pretty solid team especially on defense, but they could use some work on the offense. I am not the biggest Tony Romo fan in the world, but I found the news articles questioning his intelligence last year a little distasteful. Whatever we think abut Romo he can get the job done and it appears that the stats back that up. |

Dallas Cowboys extend Phillips till 2011 Sometimes I really don’t understand Jerry Jones, and the way he chooses to run his football team. Based on the words that have come out of this guy’s mouth he has never been happy with Wade Phillips as his head coach. A few years ago he even went out of his way to give his Offensive Coordinator Jason Garret a huge contract that seemed to install him as the favorite to replace Phillips as head coach of the Cowboys. Once Garret fell out of favor, it seems Phillips remains the head coach by default. |

The people who own are sports teams: Jerry Jones- Dallas Cowboys Without a doubt Jerry Jones is one of the most controversial owners in the NFL, if not in the sporting world all together. Jerry does things his own way; he is considered a maverick owner, having successfully challenged the NFL on may issues including signing a deal with Pepsi to be his soft drink provider. At the time the NFL had a deal with Coke, but Jones changed much of that. |

Romo injures his back in game versus the Redskins This could be very bad news for the NFC East leading Dallas Cowboys. Yesterday QB Tony Romo injured his back in a game versus the Washington Redskins. He injured his back throwing himself into Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall who was running back a fumble. While the tackle likely saved a TD, he took a knee to the back, and was struggling visibly throughout the rest of the game. |

2003 NFL draft pick by pick: #5 Terence Newman It seems that CB Terrence Newman has the distinction of being the third home run draft pick of the 2003 draft. When Bill Parcells was running the Dallas Cowboys he considered him to be the finest athlete on the roster and after making the 2008 Pro Bowl his status as a shut down corner is assured. |
