Dave Campo and Hudson Houck are gone. It's about time. I have only thought Campo was part of the problem in Dallas for the longest time. Click here for that article.
Campo has accepted the defensive coordinator job for the Kansas Jayhawks. He will join Charlie Weis as a new coach for their secondary. New NFL coaching experience in the college ranks. The question is—will it help Kansas? The reason why I say that is because, it seems on the NFL level, Campo flew under the radar, as far as a person responsible for some real bad play in the Cowboys secondary.
Hudson Houck was let go by the Cowboys, and is rumored to be retiring from the NFL saying...
I had a great run. I've spent 13 years with the Cowboys and all of them were wonderful. The owner has been generous to me.
He will be replaced by Bill Callahan former Raiders head coach, who is leaving the Jets. He was offered extension after extension to stay in New York, but declined.
He was hired in Dallas, but for what "position? Will it be just the offensive line coach? Or will Callahan the offensive coordinator? I am not too impressed by this hire. It seems like they went out to get a yes man for Jerry Jones, so he can act like he isn't involved with the day to day running of the offense. I just don't buy it. No one does.
The player situation in Dallas has some eyebrows lifting a bit. Laurent Robinson has made it official, he wants to stay in Dallas. And why not, he was arguably the offensive MVP for this team in 2011.
In an interview on ESPN Radio 103.3FM Ben and Skin Show, Robinson said...
“This is where I want to be, It doesn’t matter if I’m the No. 1, 2 or 3. I feel like I have a good fit here. Money doesn’t drive me to play this game, I play because I like to have fun. I think I have a good fit here with the Cowboys.”
The Boys are going to have to pony up some more money anyway, after he played for the league minimum for the Cowboys. He put up numbers such as 11 touchdown catches on 54 receptions and 858 yards.
In more player news Jon Kitna is calling it a career after 15 seasons. He played on teams such as the Bengals, Lions, Seahawks. He is not a Hall of Famer, but Kitna filled in great later in his career, and was descent as starter.
The Cowboys also signed a futures contract with ILB out of Hawaii Brashton Satele. Satele was released by the Jets in September.
