Movie fans are waiting to see Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto together on the big screen. On Monday, Aug. 26, Ropes of Silicon shared the photos released for "Dallas Buyers Club" from Focus Features. McConaughey and Leto star in the new drama. Check out the photos by visiting the slide show.
This film will tackle the early days of the AIDS epidemic back in 1986. McConaughey stars in the film as a man who starts a business of his own going to Mexico to find the best medicine he can to treat the disease. The medicine is not approved by the FDA.
Jennifer Garner also stars in the film. For the project, both McConaughey and Leto lost weight. Leto went down to 116 pounds with a 38 pound weight loss. McConaughey lost 47 pounds for his role. The actor revealed the following about why he took on the role, according to Moviefone:
"I really was intrigued by this wild, almost redneck Texan who was trying to be Scarface -- drug-smuggling, dealing, and rolling in the cash, trying to stay alive."
This new film will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, and fans will be able to see this film arrive on the big screen a bit earlier than previously scheduled. Focus Features has moved up the release from Dec. 6. The film will arrive in theaters on Nov. 1, according to The Wrap on Monday.
Scottsdale residents will be able to see this film at the Harkins Scottsdale Fashion Square 7 or at another local theater in the area once it is released.
