The 53rd Annual Dallas Autorama is coming to Market Hall February 15-17 and as always there will be a little something for everyone. If you like to get celebrity autographs, well you can do that here as Wrestling Superstar Adam Copeland ‘The Edge’ will be in the house along with Stefanie Scott who plays ‘Lexi Reed’ in Disney’s ‘A.N.T. Farm’. If you lots of tire smoke well there’s the Burnout Contest that will be taking place. If you like to see Monster Trucks smash little cars, they got that going on! But .. if its cars you want to see then they will have a variety of those to fill anyone’s desire!
One of the highlights will be the fantastic celebration of the book ‘The Hot One’ written by Pat Chappell back in the mid 70’s just as the ‘Tri Five Chevy’ phenomenon really took off. This book has become the bible of the ’55-’57 Chevys and is chocked full of facts, photos and stats about this highly collectible group of Chevys. At the Autorama, there will be 8 beautifully restored and modified examples of these Chevys from the Dallas Area Classic Chevy club in a special display at Market Hall that you do not want to miss seeing!
In this display will be Larry Freeman of Frisco with his beautifully restored 1956 Chevy Convertible, Joe Sanders of Colleyville with his highly modified 1957 Bel Air hardtop, Michael Brown of Arlington with his stunning all black restored 1955 Bel Air hardtop, Terry Sealock of Lucas with his fantastic restored 1957 Convertible, Jim Leinart of Sherman with his historic 1955 210 Sedan drag racer, Don Andre of Southlake and his gorgeous 1957 Bel Air hardtop, John Rogers of Grand Prairie with his wild 1956 Nomad station wagon and Mike Reeves from Burleson with his modified award winning 1955 Bel Air hardtop. These 8 ’55-’57 Chevys will all be on display in the special ‘The Hot One’ display presented by the Dallas Area Classic Chevys at Market Hall.
Also at the show will be a special display of 3 generations of the Batmobile. Perhaps there isn’t a more iconic crime fighting car than the Batmobile and over the past 40 years that special car has taken on new looks and new gadgets to keep up with its ability to fight crime. You will be able to see 3 different versions of this fantastic car at the Autorama side by side! And this just after the very first Batmobile recently sold for $4.6 million at the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction! Add to this all the several hundred more local and traveling show cars and you will have a weekend of automobilia that you won’t soon forget!
Show hours are Friday Feb 15 from 3PM to 10PM, Saturday Feb 16 from 10AM to 9PM and Sunday Feb 17 from 11AM to 7PM. Admission is just $15 for adults, children 6-12 only $5 and kids 5 and under free.
