Most Texas cities and school districts are holding non-partisan elections over the next few weeks. Early voting, starts on April 30th and runs thru May 8th, with the final Election Day on May 12th. Here's a list of candidates that are running in the Wylie and Sachse areas, and bonds that are up for a vote:

The Wylie City Council is also accepting applications to fill expiring or vacant terms on city boards and commissions. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Click here to apply.

Sachse City elections will be held at Sachse City Hall, 3815-B Sachse Road, and any Dallas County-wide early voting locations.
Wylie ISD is seeking another bond election for $21.1 million, which will be done separately from the city elections and thus held at different locations; for details click here.
Monday, April 30th, Garland ISD Board of Trustees and City Council candidates will speak at a Chamber luncheon. Later that evening the Republican District 12 State Board of Education Candidates will be discussed at 7pm at the Alpha Charter School, 701 W. State St., Garland, TX 75040.
On Tuesday, May 1st, the Ron Paul Dallas activists group will be having an organizational meeting to coordinate on getting people registered and out to vote in the GOP primaries on May 29th.
Also on Tuesday there will also be a May Day Rally at Dallas City Hall in commemoration of international Workers Day.
On Thursday the 3rd Sachse will hold its 1st public local National Day of Prayer event. There will be two opportunities to gather: at the Amphitheater at the City Hall of Sachse, from NOON until 1pm; a "Rush Hour" event taking place that same at 6-7:30 pm at the Parking lot at North Place Church on Hwy 78 and 2709 3rd St. There will be a reading of the City Proclamation and will be led by several Pastors from the local community and the NDP Sachse committee.
On Saturday May 5th, the DFW NORML & Texans for Sensible Marijuana Regulation will be at Dallas City Hall to participate in The Global Marijuana March (GMM). An annual, FREE rally held at different locations across the planet. It refers to cannabis-related events that occur on the first Saturday in May.
