Dalis Connell briefly appeared on the hit MTV show “Teen Mom” when she was dating Ryan Edwards. Despite being a good-hearted girl, Dalis received a lot of criticism from fans of Maci Bookout, Ryan’s ex with whom he had a child. Dalis and Ryan called it quits long ago and the fitness guru has happily moved on with her life. However, she hasn’t forgotten her past and actually opened up about her relationship with Ryan to Unlimited, the Tennessee Tech Athletics magazine, according to a July 8 report from Wetpaint Entertainment.

Dalis Connell maintains that Ryan Edwards cheated on her for eight months while they were dating. The young, beautiful athlete was unfortunately unaware of the infidelity until her mom passed away. During that already hard week is when Dalis found out that Ryan had allegedly been cheating on her and that is when their relationship ended. She is now in a relationship with a pro ball player and has left her past behind her, but she hasn’t forgotten any of the lessons that she learned from her brief stint on “Teen Mom.”

She explained, “When “Teen Mom” was on the negative comments were awful because the show portrayed me in such a negative light.”

Unfortunately, Dalis Connell isn’t the only person to appear on “Teen Mom” to say that the show portrayed them in a negative light. Of course, it didn’t help that Maci Bookout is one of the most popular girls from “Teen Mom” and that her fans will back her up on anything. As a result, Dalis Connell found herself criticized and bashed quite often, so much so that she ended up on anti-anxiety medications for a short while.

In the end, though, she explained to Unlimited that “Teen Mom” was a learning experience, saying, “Overall, it was a learning experience to help me be okay with myself. I was insecure before that, but with getting so much negative feedback, I had to learn to love myself and not listen to it. The biggest thing I learned was to love myself and respect myself instead of listening to the people.”
