His Holiness the Dalai has managed to maintain an inner calm in spite of being surrounded by hostilities in this era. He continues as usual to discourage force to solve problems. Phayul.com reported on Oct. 9, 2013, "Dialogue is the key, Dalai Lama says in Atlanta." While on a visit to Atlanta in the United States the Dalai Lama has made a call to make this a century of compassion.
The Dalai Lama made these comments while speaking on ‘Pillars of Responsible Citizenship in the 21st Century Global Village’ to about 10,000 people at the Gwinnet Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He has said the twentieth century has been a period of bloodshed and violence with 200 million people having died violently.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama feels we must think of others as our human brothers and sisters to end this violence. It is also the feeling of the Dalai Lama that by reducing our negative emotions we can enhance our peace of mind and be more successful working towards peace. The words of wisdom of His Holiness the Dalai Lama have within them the power to bring on a more peaceful era on the planet.
