Dalai Lama speaks on compassion and ethics in Livorno, Italy

Daily as more violence erupts across the world the wise words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama aimed at helping to direct
mankind towards a more peaceful way of life are revered by Buddhists. Over 6000 followers of the Dalai Lama attended his talk in Livorno, Italy on Sunday dealing with compassion and ethics reported on June 16, 2014.

Bishop Simone Giusti of Livorno was present alongside His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the stage during his talk. The Dalai Lama said it was a great honor to have a spiritual brother from another major religious tradition present with him. He went on to comment that he always expresses the feeling that all religions teach the same message, which is the practice of love. Although he recognizes major differences philosophically between the religions, he nevertheless sees a common aim of making everyone a better person with moral ethics.

The Dalai Lama expressed his desire to participate in a Christian prayer service during his next visit to Italy reported the Central Tibetan Administration. He said that this would not be possible during this visit because he was leaving the next morning. Bishop Giusti extended his thanks to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his kind words. He also said there are a lot of people across the world who have lost their way and for whom His Holiness’ message of love and compassion offers new hope.

The Dalai Lama said that he really enjoyed his visit to Italy. He extended his thanks to everyone for the love that they had shown. He did however have a complaint about the hot weather, which he said was beyond everyone’s control. The Dalai Lama also advised everyone to develop a sense of concern for the wellbeing of others. This inspirational talk by the Dalai Lama has helped to foster more genuine feelings for humanity in his many followers.
