There has been a dark cloud hanging over the feelings of Buddhists as we enter 2012 due to continued tensions in Chinese controlled Tibet. There are great fears there may be more self-immolations by protesting Tibetans this year. And so Buddhists in Syracuse who have been praying and working hard for the well being of the Tibetans are feeling encouraged by the Dalai Lama's recent comments that the truth will prevail in Tibet and that the problems will be resolved soon. YC. Dhardhowa has reported for The Tibet Post International "Tibet's problems will definitely be solved soon; His Holiness."
The Dalai Lama has said solutions to the world's problems lie with human beings. His Holiness has gone on to express the feeling that many of the world's problems, including Tibet's, are man made. The Dalai Lama has also said that Tibet's problems are not caused by natural disasters, but instead by a lack of understanding among Chinese authorities on aspects such as Tibet's history and rich cultural heritage. He has commented "Tibet has the truth and the truth will definitely prevail one day soon. The reality cannot be concealed for long. Therefore, be happy and keep strong."
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has as usual shown support for fair and truthful democratic systems, and has expressed his concern for Tibetans living under repression in Tibet, while saying "Everybody wants Happiness, no one wants problems, and ignorance is the root of all suffering." He has noted that people in Tibet have suffered under Chinese occupation for nearly six decades, but that their spirit and strength have remained unshakeable and very strong. And he has encouraged his followers not to lose faith and to support that faith with reason.
