As the Syracuse community continues to decay on a daily basis with consistently high levels of unemployment, poverty, and homelessness associated with government corruption and hard crime spiritual guidance is needed more than ever. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has offered some advice to help Buddhists and their friends cope during this difficult era by suggesting mankind needs the oneness of humanity.
The Tibet Post International has reported "Today's World Needs the Oneness of Humanity: His Holiness." His Holiness the Dalai Lama recently commented that "many of the world's problems, conflicts and fears arise due to lack our ability to accept the oneness of humanity. Today's world requires us to accept the oneness of humanity. Many of the world's problems, conflicts and fears arise because we have lost sight of the common experience that binds us all together as a human family."
The Dalai Lama has gone on to discuss that despite superficial differences between us, people are all equal in their basic wish for peace and happiness. He has also commented that although it was historically possible for communities to exist in virtual isolation, in these days whatever happens on one region eventually affects many other areas. And so the Dalai Lama feels that in view of our new interdependence, self-interest clearly lies in giving consideration to the interest of others. Together Buddhists worldwide are praying this message from the Dalai Lama helps to nurture a more peaceful and humane world.
