Daily herb tip: comfrey for insect bites

Comfrey, containing allantoin (increases cell proliferation) that  speeds up  the natural replacement of  damaged cells, helps aid in the rapid healing of cuts, scrapes, and insect bites.  Be sure the wound is completely cleaned before applying comfrey to avoid sealing in bacteria that can lead to infection.

For more information about comfrey, see your local herbal shop or health-food store: Apothecary Tinctura in Denver, Rebecca's Herbal Apothecary in Boulder or Vitamin Cottage.
