Daft Punk Thomas Bangalter removes helmet at beach and celebrity headlines go nuts over his "real" look. Daft Punk is made up of two Frenchmen -- Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter -- both 39. Part of their trademark is wearing helmets and keeping their true appearance a secret. One of the "robotic" musicians debuted his human face sans the helmet while in Miami with his wife, Elodie Bouchez, Us Weekly reports Jan. 29.
Bangalter was taking some time off to relax while strolling the beach in Miami with his wife. He was shirtless and wore red swimming shorts. According to the report, the couple were in Miami for the wedding of Pharrell Williams -- a collaborator of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky."
Daft Punk 's Thomas Bangalter removes his helmet at the beach after he told Rolling Stone magazine that he and Homem-Christo don a robot look because they are "interested in the line between fiction and reality, creating these fictional personas that exist in real life . . . for us it was sci-fi glam."
Bangalter is known as the "silver robot" in the duo. Homem-Christo is the "gold robot." He added to what Bangalter said in the interview. He pointed out that they are not performers or models, but "it would not be enjoyable for humanity to see our features . . . but the robots are exciting to people."
Why did Daft Punk 's Thomas Bangalter remove his helmet at the beach? Was he ready for everyone to see who he really is behind the disguise?
