Just as Stephen Colbert revealed earlier this month, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk did make a “surprise” appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 25, 2013. The robots gave us a sneak preview of their new video for the single “Lose Yourself to Dance.”
Just like “Get Lucky,” the video features Daft Punk alongside Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, only this time they are performing on top of a pyramid of dancing fans. “Lose Yourself to Dance” is the second single off of Daft Punk's forth studio album, the very fun and funky, “Random Access Memories.”
Daft Punk, Williams and Rodgers went on to present a moonman to Taylor Swift for “Best Female Video.” Swift pretty much ignored Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers as she accepted her award, but she did let superstar producer Pharrell Williams, know that she's “such a huge fan.”
