There are many workshops that are available for moms to learn nurturing skills when caring for their children. Even with the changes that we see in our society now with stay-at-home dads, there are few workshops and classes that are just for dads. Most of the classes and workshops that are offered are for moms and parents as a couple. What about dads learning from other dads in a class that is a "dads only" event? Dads as a peer group have a lot to offer each other and will sometimes open discussions with each other about childcare topics when Mom is not around.
The Nurturing Dads Initiative in Sarasota is sponsoring a class in Sarasota beginning on October 1 and continuing through December 10 at Alta Vista Elementary School. Dads are invited to participate in this free class to learn great nurturing skills and discuss fathering ideas with other men. Expectant dads, new dads, married dads, and single dads are invited to participate. Dads with any number of children will learn new skills that they might not have had with the first child, and would like to use with younger children.
The Nurturing Dads Initiative is part of the Children First organization in Sarasota. This organization is proud of the fact that over 1600 Sarasota dads have participated in this class for dads only and are graduates of the program. The new class will be held each Tuesday from 6:00-8:30 beginning October 1. Alta Vista Elementary School is located at 1050 South Euclid Avenue in Sarasota. The class and materials are free.
All dads are encouraged to particpate and learn from other men about being the best dad that you can be.
