Daddy Yankee rumors flooded the internet over the past several weeks but on April 4 his publicist cleared things up. According to the LA Times, rumors about Daddy Yankee's sexuality have been hot since the "reggaeton king" made a comment that many believed was his way of coming out. Since then, people have been talking about the uber-masculine rapper and wondering if he really did come out.
"I am a human being like any other, with virtues and defects, and I don't believe that this is a defect," said Daddy Yankee in a statement after a photo of him kissing another man surfaced.
Since then, Daddy Yankee rumors hit a fever pitch. Today, a company claiming to represent Daddy Yankee has come forward to debunk the rumors and set the record straight (no pun intended).
"Online blogs and social media are once again to blame for the spread of false news reports, which other media outlets have also shared regarding a public figure. The reports circulating regarding Daddy Yankee's declaration of homosexuality was falsely written by an online outlet known for fabricating false information and spreading it through social media sites," said Nevarez Communications in a statement.
If the Daddy Yankee rumors were true, his fans may or may not have supported him. While being homosexual is widely accepted by people around the globe, there was a lot of talk going on over the past few weeks that suggested that people were shocked over this news (that turned out to be false).
