When my late father served in the military he would be away from home for months at a time. Every time he would leave home he would promise me that he would come back. No matter how long I had to wait, my Daddy kept his promise.
Do you know what it feels like to wait on your Heavenly Father for months and even years at a time? I know the feeling all too well. The caveat is that when God makes you a promise, you must be prepared to wait. During the waiting everything in your life will be tested and tried. But in this I rejoice, “None of the good promises the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed. Everything was fulfilled” (Joshua 21:45).
God keeps His promises. I have determined that if I can have faith in my earthly father who was not perfect, then surely I can trust my Heavenly Father who is perfect. Even when I am attacked with fear, doubt and unbelief, I fight back and win every time because when I wait on my Heavenly Father, trusting in His faithfulness, He will not let me be put to shame (Isaiah 54:4). My Heavenly Daddy keeps His Promises!
