Thursday morning a 17 year old Harrison County teen was fatally shot after being found hiding under the bed of a 16 year old girl.

The first to discover the boy was the girls brother who reports having seen "two feet sticking out from under the bed." Her brother informed his father of what he witnessed, and her dad called 911 before barging into the young woman's room.

Panicked, the young lady told her dad that she did not know who he was.

A confrontation took place between the father and the young man. The father said he moved his hands fast and he shot him.

The young man, whose name has not been released, died on the scene.

A handgun was recovered from the house as well.

After the initial investigation it was discovered that the young woman had let the teen in herself. She admits that the victim was a friend of hers.

A neighbor stated that, "You just feel terrible for the families: You just kind of reflect on both of these families’ lives have changed forever."

Her father, who has also not been identified, reports having had to go to the hospital after the shooting for severe panic attacks. It has not been determined whether or not the girls father will face criminal charges, but the case is set to be presented to the grand jury.
