A Marietta man and his son were arrested Wednesday evening in connection with the shooting of a man at an apartment complex in Cobb County. And police said the victim may have life-threatening injuries.
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Loreno Lodge apartment complex at 500 Lorene Drive in Marietta, police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said. Investigators said the victim was at the complex when he was approached by the perpetrators who pulled out a gun and started shooting, Bowman said. It’s unclear if any words were exchanged before the shooting.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was shot at least once, Bowman said. He did not say where on the body the man was struck. The victim was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was being treated for possible life-threatening injuries, Bowman said.
So far, police have not provided a motive for the shooting or any details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. It’s also unclear if there were any witnesses.
The father and son were arrested at a location Marietta Parkway. The dad was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless conduct and two additional counts of aggravated assault as well as drug offense, according to the booking records. His son was also charged with reckless conduct and carrying a concealed weapon, the records show. Both remained in Jail Thursday night without bond.
