A dad paid his 14-year-old daughter $200 to quit Facebook, according to a Feb. 6 Inquisitor report. She did not even have to quit for forever. All she had to do was log off for five months.
Of course, five months can seem like forever to a 14-year-old. Even so, the dad named Paul Baier paid $200 for his daughter, Rachel, to quit Facebook, and she took the deal. Ultimately, Paul Baier had legal paperwork created for he and Rachel to sign making their agreement official and binding.
The good news for Rachel Baier is that she gets part of the $200 to quit Facebook throughout the five months. In fact, her first $50 will come in mid-April. The full balance of $150 will be given to her on June 26.
According to Paul Baier,
"She mostly wanted and needed the money as she has been frustrated by not finding babysitting jobs. She is honors student but she says Facebook can be distracting."
The $200 will help supplement her spending money. In fact, the $200 to quit Facebook was supposedly her idea. There are worse ways to make money. In fact, once the five months is over, Rachel does not even intend to get back on the social network.
