And police are trying to determine who shot him and why. But they believe it was someone he knew.
It’s unclear how long Mr. Christopher Pierce had been dead, but officials said he was last seen by family members on Saturday.
His dad, who owned the home at 148 Misty Hollow Way where he lived, went to check on his son and found Mr. Pierce’s body around 5:15 p.m., according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The dad called 911 and deputies found the man dead of a gunshot wound inside the home, the sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said. But he declined to comment on where inside the home the man was found or where he was shot on his body.
“There were no signs of forced entrance and no signs anything was taken from the home,” Lt. Baker said. “Due to those factors we do not feel this is random.”
