When a dad disowns a daughter, just the thought of this may bring your blood to a boil, but when you see why this dad disowns his daughter, you may think the world needs more dads like him! The letter comes from a grandfather standing by his grandson, who was kicked out of his mother’s home when he told her he was gay. The heartfelt message behind a letter that’s gone viral on Facebook today has just "blown" folks away!
The man disowned his daughter for her “hurtful, narrow-minded and backward” way of thinking, as posted on UPI.com on Oct. 3. She threw her own son out of the house because he was gay. Christine, the mother of a gay teen, Chad, apparently kicked Chad out of their family home when he told her he was gay.
The grandfather of Chad, who is also Christine's father, tells his “narrow-minded” daughter that “a parent disowning her child “goes against nature.” The letter was posted on Facebook after Chad sent the letter to a website that advocates for gay rights and sells T-shirts with logos reflecting this.
FCKH8.com posted the letter on its website and also is giving Chad a free T-shirt. (From all the publicity they are getting from this letter, they should give Chad a few T-shirts if not an entire wardrobe!).
The father did not mince words to his daughter, telling her she was the real “abomination” here. FCKH8 said “We were blown away by how this guy stands by his grandson and stands up against his own homophobic daughter. This is real love.”
This is what else the dad had to say to his daughter:
"The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that “you didn’t raise your son to be gay”. Of course you didn’t. He was born this way and didn’t chase it any more than he being left-handed. You however, have made a choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded and backward. So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gays put it) grandson to raise, and I don’t have time for heart-less B-word of a daughter.
If you find your heart, give us a call"
