“The Vault of Heaven” is the May 3 episode of “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Reminder: this article has spoilers, so read at your own risk. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. “Da Vinci’s Demons” airs Saturday nights at 8 p.m. central on STARZ.

I was really hoping that walking into the Vault of Heaven was easy, but no, that is not the case. The trials are alright. They can be a little annoying at times. The close calls are obvious. What is great is that Zoroaster is able to lend a hand due to his lock picking skills. Other than that, the trials are just a way to show off Leo’s brain and make the wait to get into the vault that much longer. Did you enjoy the trials?

Clarice is still with Carlo having sex. Thankfully the ninjas wait until after the two of them wrap it up before bursting in through the ceiling. It was awfully considerate of them. The best part of Clarice’s storyline is her bit with Vanessa. She offers Vanessa some advice on demanding respect, and Vanessa turns it right back around on her. Carlo is really not all that intriguing. I still don’t trust him. Do you?

Lucrezia goes and does things in order to help her father’s plan. It’s not quite clear what she is hoping to accomplish, but she goes to a Sultan of the Ottoman Empire – Bayezid. She brings him that nifty sword that she stole a couple episode ago and tells him to go to Rome to forge peace. Yeah, it’s really not all that exciting. She gets screwed in the end because he does go to Rome, but he leaves Lucrezia on lock down. Did you enjoy Lucrezia’s storyline?

Nico saves Zoroaster from Riario in this episode. It was only a matter of time before Riario made a move, but it is fantastic that Nico steps up and talks Riario out of it. The writers have done a good job with Nico this season. He has grown into more of a character, and he definitely has a way of getting through to people. Did Nico make you proud during this episode?

Lupo becomes fascinated with the Book of Leaves. Both of the Pope Sixtuses (Sixti?) don’t approve of it. Lupo decides he really doesn’t care, and so he steals the page from the book that is kept in the archives. The best thing about this storyline is that it shows Lupo showing initiative. I’m not sure what his next move is because it looks like he is no longer following either Pope. What are your Lupo thoughts?

Really Ima? You can’t just leave with one trial to go and except Leo and company to all just sit next to some skulls waiting for you. I mean you could have told him where you were going and reminded him that he must wait for you. We all knew her betrayal was coming. What is interesting is that she says her vision told her that Leo will lead to her people’s salvation, and then he would die. Hmm, could have maybe mentioned that perhaps. She played into the love story pretty well though. I mean she even gave Leo a pet name.

What did you think of the episode? Are you excited at the possibility that Leo’s mom is somewhere in the Vault of Heaven? Ima has the worst timing ever! Leave me your thoughts in a comment below.
