The “Destination D” event will be held Nov. 22-23 at Walt Disney World Resort. The D23 event will be filled with Disney Legends, archivists, Imagineers, and special guest. Its showcase presentations focus on Disney’s contribution to the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair, with a full day devoted to this milestone in Disney history.

The sneak peak of Walt Disney Pictures' “Tomorrowland” is in keeping with the event’s interest in the 1964 World’s Fair, as the film is concerned with that time period. Supervising art director Ramsey Avery, who has worked on “Star Trek Into Darkness” and “Minority Report,” will give members a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s production and its reconstruction of the World’s Fair.

“I had a great experience working on ’Tomorrowland’ and recreating some of the very iconic environments from the 1964 World’s Fair, especially ‘it’s a small world,’ and am excited to share some of that behind-the-scenes process with Disney fans,” Avery said in press statement.

In “Rediscovering Discovery Bay,” Disney Legend Tony Baxter will offer D23 attendees an in-depth look the never-built Disneyland expansion. The presentation will include concept artwork and models that Baxter worked during his career at Walt Disney Imagineering. Discovery Bay, D23 notes, was intended to “bring to life a time and place that climaxed an age of discovery and expansion.”

The two-day event also celebrates former theme-park attractions fondly remembered by fans, such Adventure Thru Inner Space, If You Had Wings, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, as well as remembers Pleasure Island, the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World that provided a variety of night-time entertainment offerings such as the Adventurers Club, Comedy Warehouse and Mannequin dance club.

“Destination D” panels and presentations will offer attendees the opportunity to experience rarely seen concept art and images, vintage video clips, and insider stories an anecdotes.
