D&D returns to its roots with a reprint of the White Box set

Continuing the tradition of reprinting earlier editions of Dungeons & Dragons that are compatible with the latest edition, Wizards of the Coast has gone all the way back to the game's roots by releasing a premium edition of the original D&D White Box set. Each booklet features new cover art but is otherwise a faithful reproduction of the original, including original interior art:

  • Volume 1: Men & Magic
  • Volume 2: Monsters & Treasure
  • Volume 3: Underworld & Wilderness Adventures
  • Supplement I: Greyhawk
  • Supplement II: Blackmoor
  • Supplement III: Eldritch Wizardry
  • Supplement IV: Gods, Demi-Gods & Heroes

Although it's not mentioned in the description of the set, a special set of ten red and gold dice appears to be included: d4, 4d6, d8, 2d10, d12, and d20. The boxed set will be released on November 19, 2013 with a MSRP of $149.99.
