D.C. police investigate two weekend killings

Washington, D.C. --- Police are searching for the person or persons who murdered a 36-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman in seemingly separate murders this weekend only a few blocks apart.
 
The first killing was reported around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of 21st Street NE.
 
Police say officers responded for report of gunshots and discovered Steven Curtis Moore, 36, of Northwest suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was taken to a trauma center where he later died.
 
Six hours later and about six blocks away, police found Elaine Coleman, 47, of Northeast in the 500 block of 23rd Place NE.
 
Police say Coleman had been stabbed to death.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC CRIME SOLVERS at 1-800-673-2777 and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
