D.C. police identify man shot, killed by police

Washington, D.C. --- Police have identified the man who was shot and killed by police late Sunday after police say he refused to drop his gun in the Fort Dupont Park Neighborhood of Southeast.

Police say around 10:10 p.m., officers responded to the report of a man with a gun in the 4500 block of C Street SE near Texas Avenue. Upon arrival, police say an officer observed a man with a handgun.

The officer ordered the man to drop his gun, but police say he refused. The officer fired his handgun striking the suspect, later identified by police as 33-year-old Isaac Little from Southeast. He was taken to a trauma center in cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead.

No officers were injured.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is conducting the investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
