D.C. “Go-Go” bands and other genres of music of performers from the inspiring documentary The Legend of “Cool” Disco Dan will showcase their talents at the 930 Club in D.C. this Sunday, February 24th, 2013!
The event is one of many this coming weekend that support the new documentary, The Legend of “Cool” Disco Dan. The historical documentary was over ten years in the making and explains D.C. history from the “cult-character” perspective from 1980's that influenced the culture, music, and art of Washington D.C. during that decade. The weekend begins with two screenings of the documentary at AFI in Silver Spring, Maryland, followed by active discussion and Q&A with the interview subjects, film makers and the film narrator Henry Rollins, and culminates with an all day concert at the 930 Club in Washington D.C. on Sunday February 24th.
There will also be a first time showing of the art/graffiti related to the film titled Pump Me Up: D.C. Subculture of the 1980s at the Corcoran Gallery from February 3rd through March 7th.
