Trouble may be brewing for Miley Cyrus. The former Disney kid addressed reports before a recent show in London about an alleged drug overdose. She is sticking to her story about having a sinus infection and then an adverse reaction to the medication that was prescribed for it. She seems to have made a full recovery. On the other hand, she raised eyebrows when the Bangerz dates were postponed.
The spliff-loving Cyrus, 21, resumed her European Bangerz schedule last week at London’s O2 arena. She is due to appear at the American Billboard Music Awards via live video on May 18. The US leg of her tour kicks off on Aug. 1 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale. Nevertheless, questions linger about the status of grown-up Hannah Montana’s health. It is not clear where the overdose hearsay about Cyrus started. That doesn’t matter. She was compelled to speak about the issue.
At a press conference on the eve of her O2 engagement, cnn.com quoted Miley as saying, “I didn’t have a drug overdose” and “I took some s**ty antibiotics.” According to usmagazine.com, Cyrus told the phalanx of entertainment reporters, “I’m the poster child for good health.”
A string of trouble that never ends
The reigning Queen of Twerk is apparently ruffling more than a few feathers in between gigs across the pond. During a private birthday party performance over the weekend, Cyrus’s attempt at humor apparently backfired. While joking around at a club named G-A-Y, foxnews.com reports Cyrus told some friends, “You know, everyone’s a little bit gay.” She added, “It’s the truth…and if that doesn’t work, sprinkle something in their drink. That’s what I always do.”
Miley’s words about slipping something into somebody’s drink have caused quite a stir in the British media. Was she talking about date rape? There’s more. Paparazzi caught the southern pop songster leaving Madame Jojo’s nightclub in the wee hours wearing nothing more than her Versace bra and matching underwear. Coliseum goers are now waiting with bated breath to see what Miley will say or do when she returns to the arena in August.
