Today, New York-based fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley and Olympic gold medalist, Lindsey Vonn announce the winner of the Olympic Collaboration helmet design contest which launched in late December on Vonn’s Facebook page. Close to 7,000 fans voted on their favorite designs marking Rowley’s Snow Leopard #LVforGold2 the winner. Vonn called upon her Facebook fans to vote for the four designs (Snow Leopard, Speed of Light, Go for the Gold, Winged Victory), which displayed a unique hashtag that corresponded to their retrospective design.

“I wanted to find a way to involve the fans in this exciting chapter in my life,” said Vonn. “Partnering with Cynthia on the design component was such an obvious choice for me, given her talents and our friendship.” Vonn will wear the Snow Leopard helmet at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games.

Vonn is one of only six women to have won World Cup races in all five disciplines of alpine skiing and she has won 59 World Cup races in her career to date. Vonn recently returned to competition following rehabilitation from a major knee injury sustained during the 2012 World Championships and intends to defend her Olympic titles at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, which will open on February 7th.
