Cynthia Nixon debuts shaved head: ‘I have to shave it every day’ (Video)

Cynthia Nixon definitely is giving it all up for the craft of acting. The actress from the popular Sex and The City show has a new gig in New York City and to get the part she had to shave her hair. Debuting her new, bald look on daytime television Tuesday, the actress had a shocking look with no hair. It wasn’t the look the actress is remembered for, but it is necessary for her Broadway performance of Wit.

"I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day,” said Cynthia Nixon on Live with Kelly. "It's got kind of a five o'clock shadow and you don't want to go on with that," she said. "I was always kind of curious to see what it would be. I like it…I don't think I'm going to keep it forever."

Cynthia Nixon current Broadway production has her as a professor with terminal cancer. Making the poetry professor, Vivian Bearing, come live Nixon decided to play the role of the cancer victim, down to the loss of the hair. The play officially opens January 26 and is expected to share a look into the world of cancer and the affects it has on the world.
