Cyndy Garvey sues UCLA for misleading her

Cyndy Garvey sues UCLA after saying she was "duped" by the school. A report posted late yesterday at TMZ says the former talk show host, and ex-wife of MLB legend Steve Garvey -- is suing the people who run UCLA for pressuring her into enrolling in a masters program at the school with a special deal on tuition, since the school could use her fame for promotion. Garvey says the school offered her a 50/50 split on costs for her participation.

"Garvey claims she initially had no interest in going back to school ... but the bigshots -- one of whom was the former director of the executive master's program -- offered to fund her education because the school would benefit from her 'celebrity status.'"

According to a lawsuit filed in L.A.. County Superior Court by attorney, Keith Fink, Garvey says she completed the program in 2009, and fulfilled all of fundraising and P.R. obligations to the school. However 3 years later, Garvey says she was hit with a $20k tax lien for unpaid debt to UCLA.

Garvey wants UCLA to pay over $25K for misleading her, and says she never signed any documents agreeing to pay for school.

Reps for the school had "no comment at this time."
