Cyndy Garvey sues UCLA for duping her into enrolling in master's program (Video)

Not everyone sees the value in higher education. Cyndy Garvey has filed a lawsuit against UCLA, according to a Jan. 30 TMZ report.

Garvey alleges that UCLA duped her into enrolling in a master’s program in public health. Cyndy says she had no interest in going back to school when the university approached her, but decided to go for it when she was told it would be no cost to her. Garvey claims she was told UCLA itself would foot half the bill and a rich alumnus would cover the other half, as her “celebrity status” would benefit the program.

Cyndy completed the program in 2009 and was shocked to receive a $20k tax lien for unpaid debt to UCLA in 2012. Garvey wants the university to pay $25k to even the score.

Cyndy was married to MLB superstar Steve Garvey and appeared on “The Morning Show” with Regis Philbin long before he worked with either Kathie Lee Gifford or Kelly Rippa.

Do you think Cyndy Garvey was duped or do you think she misunderstood her responsibilities?
