Powerhouse singer and recent Tony Award and 2014 Grammy winner Cyndi Lauper will be opening for Cher's "Dressed To Kill" tour when it makes a stop at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on June 6. Lauper, who is known for her hits like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "Time After Time", and "True Colors", has made a huge mark on Broadway with her production, "Kinky Boots". "Kinky Boots", with music and lyrics written by Lauper, won the award for Best Musical at the 2013 Tony Awards. The musical also gave Lauper a 2014 Grammy award for Best Musical Theater album, some 28 years after winning Artist of the Year at the 1985 Grammys. This is not the first time Lauper has opened for Cher. The singer/songwriter was the opening act on Cher's '99-2000 "Do You Believe?" tour and the '02-'05 "Living Proof: The Farewell Tour".
Cher's "Dressed To Kill" tour comes after the release of her album "Closer To The Truth". The tour will kick off in Phoenix, Arizona on March 22 and will end it's run in North America some time in July. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will be the opening act for the tour's first 13 dates.
