Each generation of parents is faced with challenges particular to their time. In ours, ubiquitous access to the Internet and the ability of almost anyone to post content to it is a new frontier with new issues. Among them: cyberbullying.

Knowledge empowers parents when it comes to their children, the Web and cyber bullying. Here are some of Denver-based SafetyWeb's tips to help prevent online harassment:

  • Know where your child has accounts online and what those accounts are.
  • Know how to use the tools on each of these sites to see what is being said by and about your child.
  • Know where to report cyberbullying if it happens, and do so quickly.
  • Quickly delete malicious content.
  • Time is of the essence; when children say they are harassed online, have them show you where and how.
