The 2014 CWS live stream and TV coverage continues today when the Texas Longhorns take on UC Irvine with a shot to take on Vanderbilt in the semi-finals. Both of these teams have had great seasons, but tonight one of them will moving on and the other will be finished for the year.
According to a Fansided report on June 18 this will be the second time these two have squared-off in Omaha. UC Irvine won the first time these two faced each other by the final score of 3-1. Texas starter Nathan Thornhill was pitching a gem and deserved to get the win, but in the end Texas fell short.
Thornhill took a shutout into the 8th inning when UC Irvine's Taylor Sparks hit his nation-leading ninth triple of the season to help spark the Anteaters three run rally. That game means nothing now though for either team. All that matters is who wins today's match-up.
While Texas has a shot at not only revenge against UCI tonight, they also know what is at stake. The Longhorns have made the most trips to the CWS finals in NCAA history and would love to add one to their resume this season. The Anteaters may be a slight underdog in tonight's rematch, but they don't mind. UCI has already knocked off No. 1 national seed Oregon State and power house Oklahoma State.
Las Vegas odds makers have this game as close to even money as possible! Texas is listed at -117 with the comeback on UC Irvine at +125. College baseball fans can watch all the action unfold live on ESPN nationally and streaming live online through your PC, tablet or smart phone through Watch ESPN. The first pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST.
