On Friday, The CW announced it would be ordering a new take on the improvisational comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” The network is planning on airing 10 episodes of the comedy this summer.
Comedian Aisha Tyler will host the show and cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie will be returning. Each episode will also feature a special guest, who will put his or her comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games.
The show gives the panel random prompts and ideas from the studio audience as well as the host and the performers must combine the information given to them along with their imaginations to come up with different characters, scenes and sometimes songs. After each act, Tyler will give out points and declare a winner at the end of each episode.
Originally based on a U.K. format, the U.S. version of the show ran for eight seasons on ABC.
“Whose Line Is It Anyway?” will premiere on The CW this summer. An official date has not been determined at this time.
