Great news for “Supernatural” fans! The CW announced today their intent to renew “Supernatural” for a ninth season.
Fans were waiting with baited breath for a renewal after a particularly lack-luster seventh season put the series in jeopardy. CW President Mark Pedowitz expressed, in CW upfronts, that he was interested in having the series return for another season provided viewership was high enough to support the decision. Viewership was observed after the series returned from winter hiatus.
Fans were encouraged to hear that a deal had been inked with series leads Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as recently as January, 2013. Also encouraging was the news that a new set, the most expensive ever in the series run, was recently built and is poised become a multi-seasonal focal point of the series.
The SPNFamily, as fans of the series are called, has reason to celebrate today. Click below for a link to this week’s episode, “Trial and Error.” Kevin Tran is back, the Demon Tablet has been deciphered, and someone must face a series of “trials” in order to seal the gates of Hell permanently. It looks to be a wild ride.
