Cutter's Mill, a healthy, holistic store for your pets

For a wonderful experience shopping with your pets, check out Cutter’s Mill!  With glossy, attractive flooring, modern lighting and an open, elegant, natural feeling layout, the store is a pleasure to shop in.  There is a large water bowl for your best friend to stop and have a drink, friendly and knowledgeable staff who will carry your bags out for you and offer a treat for your dog, and a green outlook.  The store recycles all plastic and glass bottles, cardboard and paper.

Cutter’s Mill is a pet supply store with four locations in the Philadelphia area.  With stores in Paoli and Chalfont, PA and also Cherry Hill and Princeton, NJ there is a location convenient to serve you.  Taking a holistic approach, Cutter’s Mill offers a very large selection of healthy pet foods such as Wellness, Halo, California Natural, Blue Buffalo, Grandma Lucy's, Evo, Innova, Natural Balance, Annamaet, Verus, Merrick, Holistic Select, Canidae, Orijen, Acana, The Honest Kitchen, Precise Holistic, Stella & Chewy’s, Taste of the Wild, Castor & Pollux and many more. For pets with allergies, many of these brands also have limited ingredients, are grain-free and do not contain any corn, wheat or soy (common pet allergens).  Many brands sold here also do not contain by-products, artificial flavors or colors, and there are options for novel protein sources such as kangaroo, venison and rabbit for pets that might be protein sensitive.  And there are a wide variety of frozen and dehydrated raw foods to choose from as well.

The store also offers a large selection of supplements and anti-anxiety aids such as Thundershirts and Rescue Remedy.  There are a variety of treats, chews and toys to choose from as well.  The company carries some brands of toys that are green and/or organic as well made in the USA.  West Paw Design offers environmentally friendly dog beds that are made with fibers from recycled plastic bottles and organic cotton.  Simply Fido offers dog toys that are made entirely of organic materials.  Cutter’s Mill also carries a selection of dog collars, leashes and harnesses such as Lupine, which are guaranteed for life, the designer brand Up Country, and the sustainable and stylish bamboo line from Wagging Green.

There is also a large selection of small pet items and an impressive amount of grass, alfalfa and timothy hay to choose from.  They sell wild bird seed and feeders, too.

An added bonus: Cutter’s Mill supports the animals in our community by allowing rescue groups to bring in their foster animals almost every weekend in hopes to meet new families who can offer them forever homes.  In their biggest venture, Cutter’s Mill uses a roundup program at the register – simply round up your change to the next nearest dollar and the store will donate the money to the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA).  In December 2011, Cutter’s Mill presented a check for $30,000 to the PSPCA, fulfilling a pledge to donate a full $60,000 for a new humane officer. They also run various pet food drives, donating to local rescues and shelters.

The store often has sales, and if you sign up for their store card, they will email a coupon almost weekly.  Quarterly, a physical mailer is sent which is also full of coupons.  If you’re interested in signing up, you can do so here.  “Like” them on Facebook too!  Check with your local store for upcoming events and in-store promotions, as there is always something fun going on at Cutter’s Mill.
