‘Cuticle Detective Inaba’ licensed by Sentai Filmworks

Anime publisher Sentai Filmworks today announced that they have acquired “Cuticle Detective Inaba” for release in North America later this year.

“Cuticle Detective Inaba” is produced by the animation studio ZEXCS (Rental Magica) and is based on the manga by Mochi. The 12 episode anime is directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and features series composition by Makoto Nakamura, character designs by Satoshi Koike and sound direction from Hideo Takahashi.

The series follows Hiroshi Inaba, a half-wolf/half-human detective that can learn critical evidence about a case by tasting someone’s hair, who along with his two assistants, a teenager named Kei and a cross-dresser named Yuuta, run a detective agency. The group’s main goal is to put a stop to Don Valentino, a half-human/half-goat who has a literal taste for money and is Hiroshi’s sworn enemy.

Anime fans can look for “Cuticle Detective Inaba” to be available through select digital outlets soon and a home video release from Sentai Filmworks is planned for later this year. No official release date has been given at this time.
