Cuteness overload as surrogate mother cares for orphaned puppies (Photos)

Fans of the rescue organization, Rocky Ridge Refuge, are frequently treated to priceless photos of the sanctuary's residents.

Recently, founder Janice Wolf, posted heartwarming images of a rather unlikely friendship which has formed between an extra-large rodent, and a litter of pint-sized puppies.

The rodent, a Capybara, named "Cheesecake," seems to have appointed herself as surrogate mom to a litter of orphaned Dachshund mix puppies which recently arrived to the sanctuary.

In early March, the puppies were discovered inside of a Tupperware container outside of a church. Some found homes right away, but the remaining puppies were fortunate enough to make their way to Wolf's sanctuary, which is well-known for taking in a menagerie of beautiful creatures.

Just over a week ago, on a sunshine-filled afternoon, Wolf put Cheesecake in charge of the puppies; judging by the photos captured that day, it was love at first sight.

Cheesecake obviously adores the puppies, and they, her...unconditional love at its finest.
