One of my favorite things to make when it comes to sewing, knitting or crocheting is bags. Bags, bags and more bags! I have so many that my husband has threatened to get rid of some if I make any more! So although I love this new pattern I found online, I'm not sure if I'll be making any for myself anytime soon.
So my friend asked me to make some of these drawstring bags for her. How many? I asked. She said ten. I said okay and got to cracking! I found this really neat and easy pattern here to follow. The instructions are easy and there are pictures. I love pictures with a pattern! Sometimes it's hard to follow the words, but when there are pictures, it makes the words easier to follow.
The thing I liked is you need less than half a yard of fabric to make these bags. Even less if you make tiny ones, more if you make a huge one. But I like that you can customize the bag anyway you want. I used mostly print fabric for the outside and solids for the inside, but you can do whatever. You can put interfacing in there to make it sturdier or just put the two fabrics together for a throw around bag. My girls have asked me to make them some for them! (I secretly want many of these!) You can embellish the drawstring - I used ribbon for mine that complimented the fabric, but you can use whatever type of ribbon or cording that you have.
Please enjoy my slideshow of the bags I made. They were fun and easy to do!
