“That’s your opinion.” This seems to be a prevalent phrase and defense to the opposing views of people mired in the current controversies of the world. I know this saddens the heart of God. Opinions are what caused us to fall in the first place. Had Adam and Eve dismissed the devil’s opinion of God’s eternal truth, we would all still be in the garden today, enjoying unfettered and unhindered blissful fellowship with the Father and each other.
Opinions are deadly, my brothers and sisters, and we need to stop having them and stop engaging in the opinions of others. Opinions are what got us in this world of trouble in the first place. When folks ask me what my opinion is, I tell them that I don’t have one. When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my opinion (which was sinful and created my need to be saved in the first place), was washed away and nullified by the Blood of Jesus. I gladly surrendered my opinion, which was a lie, for the Truth of God’s Word.
