Former radio DJ Curtis "Scooby" Senior, will be honored today with a street being named after him on 14th Avenue North.
Scooby was one half of "Dolewite and Scooby: show on 101.1 "The Beat". Sadly, he died last February from complications related to an immune disorder.
Friends say thanks to the help of city council member Erica Gilmore an Ordinance was passed naming the portion of 14th Avenue between Jefferson Street and Scovel Street as Curtis Senior Lane.
"He touched so many people. Especially so many people that probably ride on Jefferson Street quite a bit can look over and say you know you remember him evey time you ride by 14th and Jefferson. That means everything," said James "Dolewite" Raymer, Scooby's Friend and Co-Host.
The public is invited to that dedication Saturday at 2pm. The area of 14th Ave between Jefferson and Scovel will forever be known as Curtis Senior Lane!
