Curse of the Swine is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 1, 2013 during PAX Prime. Revealed in a tweet by Trick Jarret and featured in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set, Curse of the Swine is a rare blue sorcery that can transform all your opponent's creatures into pigs (err, boars).
Curse of the Swine - XUU
Sorcery (Rare)
Exile X target creatures. For each creature exiled this way, its controller puts a 2/2 green Boar creature token onto the battlefield.
Annother imminent battle subsided in busy snuffing and carefree rooting.
It's odd when blue gets removal. Doubly so that Curse of the Swine can deal with some of the most jaw-breaking indestructible threats from the set like Nylea, God of the Hunt.
One place Curse of the Swine might shine is in a tricky Izzet deck alongside Akroan Crusader and Young Pyromancer. Goblin Electromancer will help you cast Curse of the Swine for a larger amount. It's an important thing to note that you can target your own creatures too, perhaps transforming a few of your 1/1 creature tokens into 2/2 boars that can trade with the boars your opponent will end up with when you exile their creatures.
Regardless of how it performs in Standard, Curse of the Swine will no doubt be an all-star in "Theros" limited.
How will you use Curse of the Swine?
