Curse of Shallow Graves is one of several new "Magic: The Gathering" cards featured in the "Eternal Bargain" deck from Wizards of the Coast's "Commander (2013 Edition)." This black uncommon aura gives will give the other players in your game a slight incentive to attack one of your other rivals each turn instead of you.
Curse of Shallow Graves - 2B
Enchantment - Aura Curse (Uncommon)
Whenever a player attacks enchanted player with one or more creatures, that attacking player may put a 2/2 black zombie creature token onto the battlefield tapped.
Just like Curse of Inertia, Curse of Predation, and Curse of the Forsaken, Curse of Shallow Graves helps you by helping your opponents. Of course this can backfire because they'll be gaining additional resources to use against you after the enemy you've cursed has been killed. You'll get the Zombie creature when you attack the cursed player too, and one way to ensure that your tokens are better than your adversaries is to add Curse of Shallow Graves to your Zombie-based commander deck such as Grimgrin, Corpse-Born that runs pump cards like Cemetery Reaper or Havengul Runebinder. Adaptive Automaton is another tribal lord that'll help you out.
The Zombies produced by Curse of Shallow Graves will speed up your Endless Ranks of the Dead and help bring about the Zombie Apocalypse. With every creature in your deck a Zombie, Call to the Grave will slowly wipe out any opposition standing in your undead army's path. If another player has managed to gain infinite life then Undead Alchemist will allow you to win by exiling their library. Because you're playing commander, Havengul Lich will allow you to rob graves and reanimate what you find. Liliana's Reaver is another recent Zombie card you'll want to include, and you certainly can't leave out Gravecrawler or Geralf's Messenger.
How will you use Curse of Shallow Graves?
