A new weekly series of current Orange County, California, museum exhibits.
- Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton is currently showing Washi: Printmaking with Paper of Fukui. Several artists have made prints on washi paper made in Fukui, Japan, Fullerton's sister city. Prints include paintings and drawings. The exhibit will run until September 28.
- Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach will have a new exhibit open September 7 called Avant Garde with a multitude of artists who were pioneers in their filed. Works of cubism, abstract expressionism and pop will be among works shown in the exhibit. The exhibit will span five decades as it explores acquisitions the museum has made in different areas of works.
- Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is currently showing Ancient Arts of China: A 5000 year legacy, curated by authorities of Chinese art from Shanghai Museum. Various objects will be shown throughout a 5000 year span, including ivory carvings, ceramic pots and sculptures. Heavenly Horses: Two Thousand Years of Chinese and Japanese equine art will also be shown.
