One look into the eyes of our animal companions and you see it – unconditional love. For animal lovers, our animal companions are much more than just pets, they are our best friends, confidantes and beloved family members. Many Pittsburghers have adopted pets from the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. Because of the wonderful work they do in animal rescue, advocacy and education, many of us have them to thank for bringing our “fur babies” into our families. Since February is a month all about love, let’s show a little love back to them and plan to attend this year’s Cupids & Canines event.
Cupids & Canines, a casino night style event, will be held at Cefalo’s Restaurant & Nightclub on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only $35 a person when purchased in advance, or $45 when purchased at the door, and include a drink ticket, plus $20,000 in gaming/chance auction tickets. The evening’s festivities will include gaming tables, live music provided by Five Guys Named Moe, a cash bar, and a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas. Very special canine guests will be in attendance and available for adoption. Please visit the website to purchase tickets and for more information.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society and Camp Bow Wow’s Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, an organization promoting the health and welfare of dogs worldwide, with a focus on eradicating canine cancer. The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society is one of very few open door shelters in our area, which means every animal is welcome, regardless of age, breed, health or personality.
Show some love this Valentine’s Day and help support both of these very worthy causes. If you are unable to attend this event, please consider making a donation, of either your time or money, to either of these wonderful organzations. If you are considering adding a new pet to your family, please visit the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society Shelter, where your new best friend is waiting for you!
