Hallmark Channel presents a Valentine's themed original movie, just in time for the day of love and romance. Cupid stars Joely Fisher, Jamie Kennedy, Roark Critchlow and Rebecca McFarland. The Hallmark Original Movie, which offers hope for the lovelorn, premieres on Saturday, February 11, 2012 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel, according to press information from Hallmark Channel.
Eve Lovett (Joely Fisher) is a workaholic TV talk show host with a history of failed relationships, who worries that she will never find true love and is tired of eating alone. As Valentine’s Day approaches, Eve is approached by a mysterious stranger named Vernon Gart (Jamie Kennedy), who shows up on the set claiming to work for Cupid, Inc., Eve has no idea her love life is about to get an arrow right through the heart.
Eve's handsome producer, Rick (Roark Critchlow), books Vernon as a love expert to do a segment called Eve’s Week of Love, hoping to boost the show's low ratings. Eve reluctangly agrees, but when Vernon reveals that he knows all about her failed relationships on the air, Eve storms off the set. Eve thinks that Rick is pulling a joke on her, but realizes that Vernon knows things about her that she has never told anyone, including her best friend Nancy (Rebecca McFarland).
Eve thinks that Vernon may really be Cupid, so she takes him up on an unusual offer. If she can help one couple fall in love before Valentine’s Day, her own true love will be revealed to her. Eve begins enthusiastically setting up couples on her crew, but through a series of matchmaking mishaps, her deadline is soon up. Will cupid’s arrow hit his mark or is Eve destined to be alone forever?
A series of mishaps ensues and Eve realizes that matchmaking is even harder than she anticipated. In one mismatch, she thinks that she is reuniting long lost lovers on live TV, only to learn that she has brought a man together with his stalker.
One night, while each of them are at a table for one at a restaurant, Eve and Rick unite for dinner and sparks fly. The next day, Eve is hurt to find Rick flirting with her best friend, Nancy.
The finale for Eve's show finale approaches and Eve gets dressed in a cupid costume, complete with wings. Eve is attached to a harness that will lower her from the ceiling. Waiting for her cue to descend onto stage, Eve is surprised by Vernon, who suddenly appears next to her in the rafters to remind her that her love has been in front of her this whole time.
The cast of Cupid includes: Joely Fisher (Ellen), Jamie Kennedy (Ghost Whisperer), Roark Critchlow (Pretty Little Liars) and Rebecca McFarland (Scream 2‖). Cupid is a Valentine's presentation by Hallmark Channel.
