As a cupcakery, Bunnie Cakes is special in that the offerings are vegan and gluten-free. Mari, the owner and creator behind the vegan and gluten-free sweets, has figured out how to create a cupcake that tastes so good you would not know the cupcakes were vegan or gluten-free. Before meeting Mari and sampling Bunnie Cakes' cupcakes at this weekend's Cupcake Camp Miami 2014 event, Mari answered a few questions about Bunnie Cakes and her inspiration.

How did you come up with the name Bunnie Cakes?
I was looking for domains online and I came up with the name out of the blue and the domain was available, the rest is history.

What inspires you to bake?
My children. Also customers, specially kids and moms that come to my store in desperate need for help. I was them 5 years ago, with no options for my children who had food allergies. That is the reason I created Bunnie Cakes.

What is your favorite thing that you offer?The cinnamon sugar, banana chocolate chips and guava cupcakes, the pizza rolls, the cheese balls.

What is your best selling item?
The guava mini cupcakes.

What are your baking hopes for the upcoming year?Expand my business into new places.

What has been your biggest kitchen disaster?
So many! The biggest one was in front top judges at Food Network when I made a mistake in the batter and have to redo everything from scratch with 10 minutes left on the clock, the flavor of the cupcake was corn and arugula. Luckily, I made it and I got rave reviews in my adventurous cupcake recipe!

Describe your cupcakes in three words.Delicious, Healthy, Compassionate

What advice do you have for others who are considering baking as a career?
Perseverance! Just keep your dreams up high and don't let anyone touch them. Everything is possible, there are no limits!

Do you do custom orders?Yes.

What is the price range for your sweets?
From $1.60 to $4 for cupcakes. Cakes run from $32 - $100, not including custom orders.
