Solo travelers will have a new stateroom option on Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth. According to a June 4 press release received by Examiner, nine single-occupancy staterooms will be available starting with the December 16, 2014 sailing.
The new accommodations, referred to in Cunard’s literature as Brittania Single Staterooms, will be added to Deck 2, midships. The staterooms -- one interior and eight oceanview -- will measure between 159 and 162 square feet, according to Cunard. Among the furnishings of each are a 47-inch-wide single bed, a size that is roughly midway between a standard twin and full bed in the U.S.
As on all of its ships, Queen Elizabeth offers a number of amenities for solo travelers, including a welcome reception, daily coffee and snacks every morning, port-side meeting places, and other special gatherings. For the ladies who enjoy dancing, Gentlemen Dance Hosts are available in the Queens Room during the evening.
Bookings for the Brittania Single Staterooms are now being accepted. For more information, contact your travel agent or Cunard Line.
Queen Elizabeth measures 90,900 gross tons and 965 feet in length and has a passenger capacity of 2,068. She made her maiden voyage in October 2010.
